7 weeks

This week Jay Jay has continued to wake up only once in the middle of the night thankfully. He's very much a morning baby and will wake up happy and cooing. I love my mornings with my sweet baby boy. He has also began using his hands more and more and kicking more and more. He has began to try to grasp things and hold on to things more. He also has been sucking on his hands more and more which is adorable. I love him and am so blessed to have him. I look forward to each day with him to see what he'll do next.

6 weeks

This week Jay Jay has began only waking up once in the middle of the night. He also laughed outloud for the first time this week. I love this little man so much and fall in love with him each and every day!!

5 Weeks Old

So this week was the week Jay Jay had his one month checkup and we found out he is 10 lbs 6 ounces!! Yay!! So from now and two weeks ago he's done some heavyduty weight gaining. He also has grown to 22 3/4 inches long. His head circumfrence is 16 inches around. He got his second hepatitus b shot and took it like a chance. Jay Jay each day has been stretching his sleeptime had night a little longer each and every night. Last night he slept for 4 hours straight from a feeding which was great for him!! He is still waking twice in the middle of the night but I think that is great! Today he has taken great naps falling asleep immediately when I lay him down so I am very proud of my little baby boy! I love being a mom!!

4 Weeks old and smiling as ever!

So for this week Jay Jay has continued to smile and smile and smile! He loves morning time and loves his bathtime. He is doing great with his sleeping schedule and has a schedule of two and half hours to three hours between each feeding. He wakes up twice in the middle of the night which I feel is great with his age. His reflux is doing good but he is definitely still spitting up quite a bit and still has gas it seems but it definitely is much better than before he began his medicine. He goes for his one month checkup this wednesday so I will post his results of the checkup soon after. He now is getting to big for his newborn outfits so I have now adjusted him to wearing his 0-3 month outfits which he fills out nicely. I just love every moment with this little guy and feel so blessed to me a mom to a beautiful baby and wife to a wonderful husband. My husband has been great with little Jay Jay and there is nothing sweeter than seeing a father hold his son and love him such as Randy has with little Jay Jay. 3 weeks old

So beginning this week Jay Jay has seemed to begin to go into a routine of some sorts thankfully. He eats every two and half hours during the day and wakes up twice at night. I have also noticed that he seems to be much happier lately. He can lay down now and just lay there for awhile seemingly content. He does like to be held though and he gets a lot of that. Starting yesterday Jay Jay seems to be trying to smile at me and talk with little ah noises. I love when he looks at me and frowns and then starts to smile and goes ah. I don't know if this is normal for a baby his age but I sure do love it. Also I weighed him yesterday and he weighs 9 lbs!!! since last week he has gained 12 ounces! He is definitely a growing boy! I leave all of you now with some adorable pictures we took of Jay Jay yesterday.

Doctor's Appointment

So we went to the Doctor's appointment today and found out little Jay's weight is at 8 lbs 4 ounces!! Yay!! Thats a huge improvement for a week and half ago where he was at 7 lbs! So he's gained 1 lb 4 ounces in a week which the doctor was very happy about. His jaundice levels are continuing to drop and were estimated at a 9. We did find out that little Jay Jay does have reflux and thus were given some medicine to help with the issue. Also I have had him on a three hour schedule during the day to feed since he's such a sleepy head but have found that he's having to wake up a lot at night to get his 8-11 feedings in so I've decided to switch to a 2 1/2 hour schedule and see if that makes an improvement. Fingers crossed hoping it works. He slept much better last night with only waking up twice in the middle of the night! Yay!! Don't know if I can credit the medicine or his eating schedule for that but whatever it was I'm extremely happy about it! And finally here are a few more pictures of my baby!
